Last year it was pouring rain, this year the weather gods were clearly more favorable to the Festival Recruitment in de Zon. And that of course immediately gives such a day a completely different vibe . Of course the location, DUS in Utrecht, also helped create the atmosphere. The photos from last Friday immediately show what a great job we have, at one of the highlights of the recruitment year.
The atmosphere was immediately nice at the entrance.
This was also noticeable at the kick-off by the masters of ceremony of the day: Cooble ‘s Jan Karel Sindorff, and – seen from the back – Compagnon ‘s Jessica Burger.
The beautiful weather immediately produced cheerful faces at the photo booth filled with Compagnon’s famous tulips .

And the spiral of the Academy for Labor Market Communication also turned out to be a nice challenge.
FOMO lurking
What was also certainly a challenge: following the program. With about 30 breakouts in 3 rounds it was sometimes difficult to choose. FOMO was constantly lurking.
Fortunately, most of the speakers were still available during the many networking hours .
Attentive audience.
Babette Huberts, Chief People & Legal officer at energy and internet specialist Budget Thuis , talked in a session together with Alix Hensen Verbaten ( BRANDMANNEN ) about what she believes constitutes good employment practices, and how you can use that in your story about entering the labor market. tells.
A topic that of course did not go undiscussed during the Great Place to Work session. Wencke Ester-Lorber showed that it is not about ping-pong tables, pizza sessions and petanque courts, but rather about creating trust. And as a recruiter you are crucial in this, she said.
Meanwhile, Intelligence Group director Geert-Jan Waasdorp took his audience in a packed room on his own journey through artificial intelligence .
And Judith Lemmers told how you, as a recruiter, can lower your stress level, so that you are ultimately more relaxed.
Lessons that could be put into practice during the well-attended yoga sessions of Corporate Recruitment & Development Advisor and Yoga teacher Marit Duits .
Kobi Ampoma and Kemo Camaro (founder of Omek ) were jointly ready to emphasize the value of bicultural talent.
Terwijl Luna van Leeuwen namens UP in Business uitlegde hoe je wél aansluiting krijgt met kandidaten met een schaarsteprofiel, hoe je zorgt voor een continue instroom van de juiste kandidaten, hoe je latent zoekende kandidaten succesvol benadert, én hoe je effectiever en leuker invulling kan geven aan het recruitmentvak.
Nog meer interessante sessies? Zeker. Te veel om op te noemen zelfs. Zoals die van Marjolein Bongers, die aan de hand van een badbruisbal een ware LinkedIn Power Masterclass wist te verzorgen.
Of die van Nicol Tadema, die eerst spreekster Eva Boschman bijstond, en daarna zelf het woord kreeg, in een sessie over de 7 magische woorden, waarvan ze er een drietal nader belichtte.
Ondertussen besprak Martijn Hemminga de ins en outs van het podcast maken, alvorens er in een volgende sessie een tweetal live op te nemen (waarvan het resultaat ergens de komende weken op deze site te horen zal zijn).
Aantekeningenboekjes en geboeide gezichten…
… In vrijwel alle zalen van het veelzijdige complex.
Timetohire-mede-oprichter Milad Zandi wist zijn gehoor te boeien met een spannend dilemma: hoe vind je als recruiter de perfecte balans tussen cultuur en skills?
Net zoals het ook in de salsa- en bachatales van Werf&’s eigen Wendy Swaab af en toe zoeken was naar de juiste balans…
Naar buiten!
Maar gelukkig konden we ook – zoals het hoort op een festival dat zich ‘Recruitment in de Zon’ noemt: naar buiten! Want daar bleek het goed netwerken.
Zowel in de doorloop als op het strand.
De paraplu’s waren dit jaar gelukkig niet nodig, maar zorgden wel voor een kleurrijke sfeer.
Net als de vele kraampjes op de sponsormarkt natuurlijk.
Overal was wel iets te beleven.
Nieuwe vrienden maken die ‘toevallig’ in hetzelfde vak zitten? Dit was er dé gelegenheid voor…
In de rij voor het eten bijvoorbeeld.
Of bij het petanquen.
En anders wel bij de pingpongtafel. Wie zei ook alweer dat die níet voor werkgeluk zou zorgen?
Aan het eind van de middag was het goed bijpraten over wat er eerder die dag geleerd was.
Het weer – én de vrijdagmiddaggevoel – leende zich er in elk geval prima voor.
En anders kon je natuurlijk altijd nog een balletje slaan op het volleybalveld…
… Je vrolijk laten schminken…
Voetjes van de vloer
Of… de voetjes van de vloer, zoals hier, bij DJ Güstav. Eerder op de dag leidde hij onder zijn eigen naam Bertin Bom nog een sessie rondom ‘ambient meditatie’, en nam hij zijn gehoor mee in binaural beats, later op de middag liet hij heel andere beats horen, en zweepte hij de bezoekers op met op jaren 80 gebaseerde elektromuziek.
En voor wie tot het eind toe gebleven was, moest toen het hoogtepunt van de dag nog beginnen: het optreden van de landelijk bekende DJ La Fuente.
So that was: feet off the floor, and all hands in the air.
While evening was falling outside, the temperature inside was still rising considerably.
